Two Hollywood Stories at By the Sea Productions
By the Sea Productions presents two 'Old Hollywood' stories as staged readings.
First is “An Interview with Silent Film Star Gladys Walton”, written and performed by Janice Peters. After retiring from acting, Gladys Walton was a Morro Bay resident who built a lighthouse and windmill on her waterfront property.
The second story is a radio play, “My Client Curley” by Norman Corwin, directed by Anita Schwaber, about the brief but dazzling career of a dancing caterpillar. This comedy was also a 1944 Cary Grant movie titled “Once Upon A Time.”
This "double feature" of readings performs Thanksgiving weekend only,
November 29-December 1 at 545 Shasta Ave., Morro Bay. .
Sherlock Holmes Meets Ebeneezer Scrooge
By the Sea Productions announces a musical staged reading holiday
treat,
“A Sherlock Carol” by Mark Shanahan, directed by Eve Symington. This
witty mashup of Charles Dickens and Arthur Conan Doyle will touch your
heart and tickle your funny-bone as Holmes investigates the puzzle of
Scrooge’s mysterious Christmas Eve demise. Traditional holiday music
throughout makes the show a Yuletide delight.
The cast includes Sidney Symington, Trevor Lawrence, Chase Mullins,
Lelia Symington, Janice Peters and Jonah Duhe, with music by Jim
Symington.
